Dreams and Prayer

For this two part drama "DREAMS AND PRAYER" I drew from an actual personal experience from my childhood. There was an accident on the mission center I grew up on similar to what is described in the drama, where three boys were playing on the bank of the lake, digging a "cave" and it caved in on them.

The circumstances of their rescue have had writer's license applied, but the setting came from that. There were other "God-incidences" involved in the near tragedy that vary from the way I wrote the drama.

Dreams or visions can be messages. Psychiatry would say they are messages from our psyche to our brain to reveal what we need to know.

Africans traditionally believe that they are messages from our ancestors to direct or instruct us. They take an overwhelming interest in interpreting their dreams. The witch doctor is the main interpreter for the ancestors.

This drama presents another explanation for dreams or visions. They are from God and are to direct or instruct us.

In this dream Naomi refers to previous discussions that the family has had about dreams. It fills in on a Biblical response to dreams. I plan to wrap up the discussion of dreams with that drama next week.

I have this in French, for your listening pleasure.
