STEP PARENTS AND CHILDREN

This topic was suggested to me because of the prevailing problem in the cities of Africa. I was told that many of the street children are from broken homes. The step parent doesn’t want the child and creates situations that lead to the child running away.

Often they are accused of being cursed. In the drama “The Witch Child” this is discussed. The acting out or bad behavior is normal for a child in a stressful situation of parents divorcing. But the African take on it is to suggestion an evil supernatural force. And the child suffers even more.

The superior attitude of the American/Western culture toward polygamy is hypocritical. Divorce is simply serial polygamy. God doesn’t consider marriages as dissolved just because a judge says so. The consequences of both divorce and polygamy are very similar, because they are both deviations from God’s plan. Only by the grace and forgiveness of God can the consequences of both be dealt with.
