The reaction to this drama has been interesting and enlightening. It has also made me very glad I wrote it. It was one of seven dramas incorporated into a play in Lubumbashi and performed in French for youth groups in various churches. After each performance there was a time for discussion and questions--most of them steered to me.
Invariably the question came up on this drama. It was to the effect that "God gave man the dominion over the earth in Genesis. That means we can do with it what we want. Why do you say it belongs to God and we should take care of it."
The first time I got this I was taken aback. I responded that dominion meant administration not ownership. It implied responsibility or management.
As it says on every page of this website, these dramas are not intended to answer every question, but to prompt discussion. It certainly did in this case. I'm not sure they were convinced, but they certainly had food for thought.
