DISCIPLINE OF LITTLE ONES

This drama filled in some more of the teaching about discipline. I wanted to address the behavior I saw in parents of small children. They seemed to think that when children were small they needn't be held to any standard of behavior. Hitting and pinching and shoving was laughed at. They were too small to succeed in hurting anyone seriously, so it was a joke. But being laughed at or encouraged to act out aggressively will only make it worse.

Scripture clearly teaches that children are supposed to be held accountable for their actions. And the younger they are, the more teachable they are.

Peter's example of how Mother delayed dealing with an issue until she was calmer is based on an actual incident that happened when we were raising our children. Peter's comment that the waiting was worse, is what our son still says.

Perhaps this one gives further perspective to the drama from last week. I hope it helps.
