Easter--Part 1

Again the family is turning their family devotions time into fun. It also demonstrates a practice my parents had of asking us children what we heard in church or Sunday school. They always started with the youngest, as they would have a more difficult time understanding or remembering. Because I was the oldest of four, I had to have several points I had gleaned, because we weren’t supposed to just repeat what a previous sibling had said.

I had learned that the dramas were being used to teach Muslims about what we believe. My research led me to realize that the resurrection is a huge issue for them. They are taught and believe that Jesus did not rise from the dead because he didn’t actually die on the cross. He just merely regained consciousness in the coolness of the tomb.

The intent was to present the weight of evidence against this teaching that is in the Bible in a fun way. The Romans were expert at gruesome executions. There was no messing around with almost completing the job. There were procedures to determine whether someone had died. It was official.

This drama is in two parts because the format is for them to be short. Next week the story is to be continued. However, the two could be easily performed as one drama.
