EBOLA SURVIVOR

After writing the Ebola drama, the doctor at Samaritan’s Purse who had advised me on that, told me the next drama needed to be about the survivors. They were (and still are) facing rejection by their villages and even their families. This is because of fear of the disease.

This fear is not illogical. The disease is terrible and medical science had barely begun to study it. Before the epidemic in East Africa there had been very few opportunities to research Ebola in depth. There is still much to learn, especially about long term effects of the disease. This drama was accurate at the time it was written. Research is on going.

The Christian response should be to learn what the truth is, and to help the victims. The purpose of every drama is to promote discussion and base that discussion on Scripture.
